World Wellbeing Week

World Wellbeing Week provides the opportunity for people to promote awareness of the various aspects of wellbeing. Over the past 18 months, wellbeing has shifted more into focus, with the need to take care of your mind and body at the forefront of many conversations, both personal and in relation to work and business.

Whether it's your social, physical, emotional, financial, career, community or environmental wellbeing, we wanted to get talking about it, starting right here with our very own team.

We’re kicking-off World Wellbeing Week by catching up with a few members of our team about how they manage their wellbeing, and what they practice daily to keep their health and wellbeing in the best possible shape.

Adam – Customer Services

How do you manage your wellbeing?

“I like to think I’m quite a down to earth person, so I like to think I’m quite calm anyway. I’m quite partial to a glass of wine, and I try to switch off when I’m at home. I do work from home and take my laptop home, but I try to create some sort of balance - the way I look at it, certain things need to be done in the evening so I haven’t got the issue in the morning. It’s about trying to find that balance of not overworking during work hours but occasionally accepting the fact that it just makes your life easier to spend an extra half hour doing work to save a few hours’ worth the next day.”

What’s your ‘go-to’ to destress at the end of the day?

“Probably the glass of wine first if I’m being completely honest with you! I like to watch relaxing tv, Brooklyn 99 or anything vaguely comedic would be the main sort of thing. I’ve got a decent garden so I like to sit in the garden with a glass of wine and ignore everyone and just be with myself for a bit!”

Do you have any healthy habits you recommend doing daily in order to make a difference to your wellbeing?

“I’ve started eating breakfast on a semi regular basis now! I’m not the best person for a healthy diet but I always try to sleep to a rough schedule, to get 7.5 hours per night as I’ve been told that’s a good amount to have. I also try to keep waking up at the same time - I don’t like mornings at all but I force myself to wake up at a similar time every day to try and keep some sort of routine in the morning instead of just turning up at work and putting on a t shirt!”
