Underfloor Heating for Wood Floors

Underfloor heating for wood floors is a great way to make your home warm and cosy in the winter without compromising the beauty and natural feel of wood floors. It is also a smart and efficient heating solution, as it radiates heat from the floor up, creating a consistent and pleasant temperature throughout the room.

You can choose from various electric underfloor heating systems specially designed for wood floor finishes and low-profile installation. We have three types of underfloor heating systems for your wood floors: sticky mats, loose cables, or foil mats. You can also choose from different power outputs for your electric underfloor heating system, but you should limit the power output to 150W if you use wood, vinyl, or carpet as your floor finish to avoid overheating the floor.

When selecting the right kit for your wood floor, keep the thickness in mind, as thinner and denser wood transfers heat better and heats up faster. We recommend that you check with your flooring manufacturer about its compatibility with electric underfloor heating. Wood is a natural material that can expand and contract with changes in temperature and humidity, so to avoid warping or cracking, you should choose a wood floor that has a low moisture content and is suitable for underfloor heating.
